Springfield Art Museum acquires work from emerging Missouri artist Glyneisha Johnson

SPRINGFIELD, MO
.-The Springfield Art Museum is pleased to announce the acquisition of Missouri artist Glyneisha Johnsons mixed media collage Cruisin Together, currently on view in the special exhibition Four by Four (4x4): 2020 Midwest Invitational Exhibition. Since 2014, the 4x4 exhibition has recognized and encouraged artists working in all media who reside in the four-state region of Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Kansas.
Johnsons work is on view along with bodies of work by Rebecca Drolen (Arkansas), Rebecca Hackemann (Kansas), and Crystal Z Campbell (Oklahoma). Johnson joins previous 4x4 featured artists Shawn Bitters, Sage Dawson, Rebecca Hackemann, Anne Austin Pearce, and Emily Wood in having work acquired to the Museums permanent collection.

NORWICH No matter what day of the week, there’s somebody relaxing at Howard T. Brown Park. Norwich resident Karen Carignan was visiting the park on Monday, visiting with her friend Gary Moyer and playing checkers.
“Coming down here is nice and peaceful, except for a siren every once in a while,” Carignan said. “That’s to be expected downtown.”
Harbor Commission Chairman Tucker Braddock hopes new funding will keep the park an attraction for those in and near Norwich.
Brown Park is on Chelsea Harbor Drive next to Norwich Harbor, where the Shetucket and Yantic rivers meet to form the Thames River.
