The young woman was new to Ottawa, and Paul Batchelor offered to show her around town after meeting online in November 2010.
But the date turned ugly in a darkened parking lot with the accused serial rapist making unwanted advances. Her hopes of meeting for a drink or going to a restaurant were dashed when he first agreed, but then drove to another parking lot, where she said he raped her.
