Subscriber only A Sunshine Coast father has been sentenced for indecently sexually assaulting four children, including his own daughter, in the 1990s. The 61-year-old man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared via video link in Maroochydore District Court on Thursday. The man previously pleaded guilty in December to 21 counts of indecent treatment of a child, three counts of rape and two counts of maintaining an unlawful relationship with a child. The children were each aged between six and 16 years old throughout the course of the offending. The court heard on Thursday the man had been having sex with his daughter when her neighbourhood friend walked into the room in September 1990.

Woman throws dog at victim Donna Maree Shailer leaving Caloundra Magistrates Court on March 3 after being sentenced for assault. A woman who threw her dog at another woman before hitting her with a laptop was fined $500 for the unusual assault. Donna Maree Shailer, 54, was charged with assault causing bodily harm after she attacked another woman, who was known to her, on August 9 in 2020.

BUTTS COUNTY, Ga. A murder suspect was apprehended early Wednesday after a late night search in Butts County.
The Butts County Sheriff s Office had put out a bulletin on the search late Tuesday evening, and just after midnight said he had been caught.
Sheriff Gary Long said on Facebook the suspect was taken into custody without incident. He originally described the suspect as a person of interest in a domestic related shooting at the Ingles in Jackson.
The Jackson Police Department later identified the victim as 47-year-old Terry Don Crawford, of Jackson. They said he suffered several gunshots to his upper body. The GBI identified Crawford as the suspect s stepfather.
