PLANS to boost Workington s tourism industry by relocating a popular caravan site have been updated. In February, proposals were put before Allerdale Borough Council involving the relocation of the CL Caravan and Camping site from the larger Gale Brow site to a location across the road. New amended plans include a vision to build a bridge over a stream that runs adjacent to Winscales Road as part of the proposed new site opposite the former Gale Brow Pet Business. The existing lodge on the former site would be demolished as part of the plans. Alongside neighbouring councils, Allerdale Borough Council announced this year its tourism strategy, which endeavours to attract tourists to the west of Cumbria.
