In addition to the challenge of setting up shop amid social-distancing measures put in place to contain COVID-19, brands were clearly shelving campaigns and cutting their marketing communications budgets. Well-known agencies were laying off staff. The circumstances would have been scary enough for even the most daring of souls to put their entrepreneurial dreams on ice. With the goal of promoting diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in both agency/production company staffing and creative work, the new Fusion awards will identify and celebrate great work which also demonstrates how underrepresented groups and DEI issues are utilized both “behind the scenes” hiring diverse staff, ensuring equal opportunity, pay and treatment and in the creative work itself, as expressed through casting, language, script and narrative.

10-member vaccine committee ‘finalizing distribution plan’ Dr. Merceline Dahl-Regis. In preparation for the arrival of COVID-19 vaccines, the 10-member National COVID-19 Vaccine Consultative Committee is working to finalize the operational plan to distribute the vaccine to eligible residents in the shortest possible time across The Bahamas, the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) said yesterday. The prime minister recently appointed the committee to advise him and the Ministry of Health on the development of the strategy, policies and activities related to the National COVID-19 Vaccination Plan. The committee will also review and guide the vaccine implementation schedules developed by the ministry’s technical team, as part of the monthly reports required for submission to the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), OPM said.

Vaccine Consultative Committee members named

(FILE PHOTO) NASSAU, BAHAMAS The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) yesterday named the members of the newly formed National COVID-19 Vaccine Consultative Committee, which includes stakeholders from the public and private sectors, as well as community and religious leaders. Recently appointed by Prime Minister Dr Hubert Minnis, the committee was formed to advise the prime minister and the Ministry of Health on the development of the strategy, policies and activities related to the National COVID-19 Vaccination Plan. The committee will also review and guide the vaccine implementation schedules developed by the Ministry of Health’s technical team, as part of the monthly reports required for submission to the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).
