“During her approximately one-month stay, Patton met residents and later leveraged one of these relationships to recruit participants to film a video that would air at the RNC. Patton wanted NYCHA residents to appear in the video to explain how their standard of living had improved under the Trump administration,” the OSC said in a news release.
“By using information and NYCHA connections available to her solely by virtue of her HUD position, Patton improperly harnessed the authority of her federal position to assist the Trump campaign in violation of the Hatch Act,” the statement continued.
Charles s family announced her passing on Tuesday through her Instagram and Twitter handles.

Officer Derek Chauvin had his knee on George Floyd s neck and was bearing down with most of his weight, the entire time the black man lay face-down with his hands cuffed behind his back, a use-of-force expert has testified.
Jody Stiger, a Los Angeles Police Department sergeant serving as a prosecution witness, told Chauvin s murder trial on Wednesday that based on his review of video evidence, Chauvin s knee was on Floyd s neck from the time officers put Floyd on the ground until paramedics arrived, about nine and half minutes, by prosecutors reckoning.
Prosecutor Steve Schleicher showed jurors a composite image of five photos taken from various videos of the arrest.
