Heavy Rain, High Winds & Power Outages for Christmas Day in Maine
2020 hasn t been the best year on record, has it? We ve experienced of garbage this year for an entire decade worth of years, but still, we press on and somehow find the strength to keep on smiling. Well, 2020 isn t quite done with us yet.
Heaven forbid we get a 24-hour break of the nonsense to celebrate Christmas with our loved ones. Nope, that s not gonna happen either. Maine is in the direct path of a storm that will bring heavy rains, high winds and likely power outages to the region.

Monday marked the first day official day of winter, but the Mount Washington Valley could go through a couple of different seasons this week with heavy rain, wind and 50-degree temps on Christmas Day.
Town officials are urging citizens to make sure their roofs and gutters are cleared of snow, as flooding is a possibility.
AccuWeather meteorologists are forecasting a surge of gusty winds, fog and flooding along the Atlantic coast. âThe storm is also expected to bring a brief period of snow at the tail end for some locations and a dramatic change to colder weather for all in its wake spanning Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.â
Rather than a white Christmas in Maine, forecast models are showing a windy one. That could lead to widespread power outages on the cheeriest day of the year.
Maine has already been slammed by two powerful winter storms and well, it s not even winter yet. The first storm brought plenty of snow but also brought big wind gusts that left more than 150,000 people across the state without power, in some cases for days. The second storm ended up being a surprise snowmaker, dropping massive totals across southern Maine to the dismay of every person with a shovel. So the third storm has got to be the charm, right?
