Salmon farmer Scottish Sea Farms (SSF) is investing nearly £2 million in upgrading its Shetland operations.
The company said yesterday the project would also better equip it for achieving better levels of fish welfare and survival. Improvement works will be carried out “primarily by Scottish and local suppliers”, the Stirling-based firm added.

A hearing has been scheduled to determine whether a man who disrupted his own sentencing hearing after pleading guilty to murdering a man in Stanley Park was not criminally responsible due to a mental disorder at the time of the criminal offence.
In December 2019, Tyler Anthony Lagimodiere, 31, pleaded guilty to the Feb. 1, 2017 second-degree murder of Lubomir Kunik, 61, an amateur photographer who was strolling on the park’s seawall when he was fatally stabbed.
