Brisbane recruit Joe Daniher has continued his flawless pre-season with a dominant performance in Saturdayâs scratch match against Gold Coast.
Daniher and fellow key forward Eric Hipwood kicked four goals each in the Lionsâ 47-point win over the Suns at Metricon Stadium in their first game working in tandem.
Itâs a partnership that is sure to excite Lions fans and could be an important piece to their premiership puzzle in 2021.
Fit-again Daniher hasn t missed a pre-season training session since joining Brisbane from Essendon after being struck down by injury over the last three years.

To Hell and Back!
How could we forget Melbourneâs ill-fated attempt to build up the hype and expectations of its long-suffering supporters with a 6-part documentary on the eve of last season.
It was designed to document the clubâs rise from the ashes in 2019 to glory in 2020.
The product was great. Unfortunately the Dees stumbled to 4-5 after nine rounds and the âbackâ part of âTo Hell and Backâ was obviously not going to eventuate.
Itâs a cautionary tale for other clubs not to get sucked into false expectations and bold statements before a ball has been bounced.
The Bombers are among four teams to have just the one elite ranking on their list for 2021, down from two in 2019. Ridley was a standout for the Bombers in 2020, winning the club s best-and-fairest award after emerging as one of the game s elite defenders - all with just 26 games to his name. Before last season, Ridley had played only nine senior games for the Bombers. Dylan Shiel and Zach Merrett were the Bombers two elite players in 2019, but were rated above average last year. After finishing 13th last year and losing key players at the trade table, the Bombers needed to enliven their list with future elite talent with three picks inside the top 10 in the national draft to kickstart a fresh era for new coach Ben Rutten.

A quiet summer is a great summer for Joe Daniher, who is seemingly flying in his first pre-season with the Brisbane Lions.
The key forward joined the Lions as a free agent in a bid to reignite his AFL career and after years ruined by groin injuries at Essendon, he is yet to have a setback.
New Brisbane assistant coach Mark Stone is excited by what he’s seen from the fully fit Daniher over summer.
“Joe’s going really well, which is good because I think he’s going to be so important to us and will add another dimension to our forward half,” Stone told
