The NFL offseason has entered yet another stage.
We ve gone through the frenzy of free agency. The drama of the NFL draft. The revelry of rookie minicamp (OK, that one was a stretch). And now it s time for the outstandingness of organized team activities.
And…I broke alliteration.
Kidding aside, it s an important time for NFL teams: The first gathering of new arrivals and old standbys. For rookie players, it s the first opportunity to interact on the practice field with their veteran counterparts. For new coaches, it s the first chance to install new schemes and put their stamp on a franchise.

The Vikings OTA session on Wednesday was their third since the new phase of the offseason began this week, but it was the first where media was granted access. Here are all of my observations from a sunny day at TCO Performance Center.
Five players absent
81 of the 86 players on the roster were in attendance at this voluntary OTA. The two big ones not present are Danielle Hunter and Jeff Gladney,

I figure most people don t evaluate special teams except the ball handlers (kickers included) and perhaps the guys who are the first ones down the field. Can you say anything about the impact of the new special teams coach? Do we know how he feels about going for 2-point conversions? And how many guys who were regulars on special teams have to be replaced? How does that compare to other years? Craig from Boston
