Logan officials announced a new 47-acre conservation easement along the Logan River on Friday, with hopes of ensuring public access, allowing an extension of the city trail system and aiding river restoration efforts.
A small group of officials from various agencies joined members of the Kunzler family in a cattle field bordering the new easement Friday morning for a few remarks to celebrate the occasion.
âItâs very rare in your career that you have an opportunity to work on a project where the compensation, or what you hope to be the compensation, is at Christmastime, Thanksgiving and Sunday dinners, youâre still welcome around the dinner table,â said family member Travis Lish, who represented the Kunzlers in easement negotiations.

City police officers and firefighters along with Timmins Search and Rescue and an OPP boat are searching the riverbank in the Norman Street area, looking for a missing man.
Thirty-two-year-old Gabriel Murray hasn’t been seen since Sunday.
He’s described as six feet tall, about 270 lbs. with a heavy build; short, straight, unkempt brown hair and brown eyes.

Members of the Timmins Police Service – Emergency Response Team located the deceased body of Gabriel Murray, 32, of Timmins early this afternoon.

Murray had been reported to the Timmins Police Service as a “missing person” on April 27th.
Foul play is not suspected in this case.
Next-of-kin have been notified.
A search was underway along the banks of the Mattagami River just off Norman Street.
The immediate area where the deceased was found remains under the control of the Timmins Police Service in order for officers to complete their investigative tasks.
