Thembelihle Residents Block Roads in Lenasia & K43 During Protest Over Jobs

The residents have blocked off the K43 with rocks and burning tyres this morning.
The JMPD’s Xolani Fihla says motorists are advised to seek alternate routes
“Officers have been deployed as we have received reports of protests in Lenasia and that’s on K43 which has been blocked off with roads and burning tyres at Bangalore and Capella Street that’s nearer the Thembelihle informal settlement. It’s alleged that the community is protesting for insourcing of jobs in the area. Motorists are advised to exercise caution, rather avoid and use alternate routes.”
