Cape Breton Regional Police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a motor vehicle collision with a pedestrian last evening.
Police say a 66-year-old man was hit by a car on George Street last night at around a quarter after six, near the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
They say the man was taken to the Regional Hospital, then was transferred to the QEII Hospital in Halifax for further medical treatment.
Police say they’re still investigating.

A woman wanted on a warrant for allegedly evading Cape Breton Regional Police and nearly striking an officer with a vehicle on Monday is now in custody.
Police said Courtney Reid Boone was arrested around 8:30 p.m. AT Tuesday at a residence on Old Kings Road in Sydney.
Police say they attempted to take Courtney Reid Boone into custody Monday night outside a Warren Street address in Sydney.
As a street crime officer approached, Boone allegedly sped out of a driveway nearly striking the officer and swiping a police vehicle before driving away, police say.
HALIFAX Police in Cape Breton charged three people for violating public health orders in relation to two separate incidents over the weekend. On Friday, Cape Breton Regional Police responded to a report of a television being stolen from the Superstore in Glace Bay, N.S. Upon locating the suspect’s vehicle, officers charged a 41-year-old man from River Ryan, N.S. and a 56-year-old man from New Waterford with Theft and issued each a Summary Offence Ticket under the Health Protection Act for Failing to Self Isolate (from each other), which carries a fine of $2,000. On Sunday, officers responded to a George Street address where a woman was complaining of an unwanted male, known to her, causing mischief at her residence.
