They worked with those who initially stepped up to help develop a plan that worked, she said.

Pharmaceutical maker Abzena building new 325-job facility in Sanford

SANFORD  Lee County has been picked as the home of a new biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility that s expected to create 325 new jobs.  Gov. Roy Cooper announced Tuesday that pharmaceutical manufacturer Abzena will open a state-of-the-art facility as part of a $213 million investment into the area.  The announcement comes after the state approved an incentives package worth over $6.9 million, paid over 12 years.  In order for Abzena to receive that full sum, the company must hit certain job creation and investment targets. The jobs created by the new facility are expected to generate more than $45 million in new state tax revenue over those 12 years and the project as a whole is expected to grow the state s economy by $1.5 billion, Cooper s office said.
