Cape Town Spurs booked their spot in the last 16 of the Nedbank Cup after defeating Baroka 5-4 on penalties on Monday evening.
Bakgaga made wholesale changes, with only goalkeeper Oscarine Masuluke, Bonginkosi Makume and Ananias Gebhardt remaining from the side that drew with Cape Town City last time out.
Ashley Cupido came close to grabbing an early lead for Spurs in the seventh minute after receiving a cross from Cohen Stander but his first-time side-footed shot at the near post was crucially blocked.
Gerald Phiri Junior almost broke the deadlock for Baroka on the half-hour mark with a threatening free-kick that took an awkward bounce close to the goal but shot-stopper Lincoln Vyver managed to parry it away.

Cape Town Spurs have announced the appointment of Ian Taylor as their new head coach as the successor to Vladislav Heric.
Heric was relieved of his duties at the struggling Spurs after his unavailability due to Covid-19 complications saw them part ways amicably.
His assistant Ian Taylor who assumed the role as caretaker alongside Cape Town football legend Nathan Paulse have now earned their new roles on a permanent basis. The main objective is to get the structure and organisation right in the team – trying to get the balance right, and at the same time, trying to get the results, Taylor told the club s website.

PSL official Ronnie Schloss admits the dilapidated Cape Town-based Newlands Stadium is no longer fit to host football matches.
According to reports, the historic 51 900-seater venue will be demolished and could be replaced by retail and residential properties.
Schloss says renovating the old ground, which was traditionally used for rugby by Western Province and Stormers but also hosted occasional PSL matches, would cost more than building a new one.

Reports emerged last year that the Western Province Rugby Football Union has accepted R110-million from Investec for the property.
