A prominent anti-apartheid activist and cleric, the imam was murdered by the South African Police’s notorious Security Branch while in detention.  The filmmaker’s next venture is a similar ode to a family political drama, but this time it is about his father, the political activist and journalist Ashur Shamis, 72.
