First responders rescued 40 passengers and four crew members from a charter fishing boat in Gloucester Harbor Wednesday morning after steam coming from a burst coolant line was mistaken for smoke, the harbormaster said.
The Coast Guard was called around 8:40 a.m. Passengers were on board the charter boat Yankee Patriot II less than three miles northeast of Cape Ann when what crews thought was smoke began billowing from the engine room, Coast Guard Petty Officer Ryan Noel said.
