Nashville Music Equality-sponsored panel about the history of the
Black Country Music Association. The now-defunct organization started in the early ’90s to promote black artists and educate the industry on the wealth of Black country talent.
Cleve Francis founded the group after his experiences after his time with Liberty Records (which became Capitol Nashville). Though initially hopeful, his interactions with the country music industry turned dismal.
