Danville investigators have arrested 20-year-old Earlquan Williams and charged him with second-degree murder in connection to the death of Jaylan Fitzgerald.
A citizen called 911 Wednesday at about 3:15 p.m. on Feb. 3 to report a man, later identified as Jaylan Fitzgerald, lying in the 600 block of Cabell Street with a gunshot wound. Fitzgerald died at the scene.
Williams is the second man charged in connection to this homicide and investigators cannot rule out that third person was also involved. Police arrested Williams at his home in Danville on the afternoon of Feb. 10 without incident.
Police are still searching for Avion Burton, who is wanted for second-degree murder.

DANVILLE, Va. – Police have a 20-year-old man in custody in connection with the death of Jaylan Fitzgerald last week in Danville.
Earlquan Williams faces a charged of second-degree murder and was arrested at his home on Wednesday afternoon.
Fitzgerald’s body was found on Feb. 3 in the 600 block of Cabell Street.

DANVILLE, Va. – Danville Police have arrested a second suspect in a Cabell Street homicide.
Investigators arrested 20-year-old Earlquan Williams and charged him with second-degree murder in connection to the death of Jaylan Fitzgerald.
A 911 caller alerted police at about 3:15 p.m. on February 3 that a man was lying in the 00 block of Cabell Street, suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, identified as Jaylan Fitzgerald, died at the scene.
Police arrested Williams at his home in Danville on the afternoon of February 10 without incident.
Williams is the second man charged in connection with the murder and investigators say they “cannot rule out that third person was also involved.”
