A TOWN councillor has announced she will be standing for election as a county councillor in the upcoming local elections. Residents in Northumberland are due to take to the polls in May for the 2021 local elections - although coronavirus restrictions could yet have an impact on the plans. Prudhoe town councillor Angie Scott, who represents the West Wylam ward, has announced she will be standing for the seat of Prudhoe North, representing the Labour Party. The seat is currently held by Conservative councillor Ken Stow, who was elected for the first time in 2017. Coun. Scott said: I am Prudhoe Proud - proud of my community and proud of how I have made a difference to it. This May I will be standing as the Labour Party County Councillor Candidate for Prudhoe North and I would be honoured to have your support.
