New Ultraman Animated Feature Being Developed by Netflix May 13, 2021
Netflix announced it has partnered with Tsuburaya Productions to develop a new CG-animated feature film for the iconic Japanese superhero
Ultraman.
According to Variety, the upcoming
Ultraman animated film features a brand new story and is aimed at bringing a new audience for the red and silver-clad superhero. Shannon Tindle will make his directorial debut along with John Aoshima (
DuckTales,
Gravity Falls) who will co-direct the project. The feature will be based on a script both Tindle and Marc Haimes (
Kubo and the Two Strings) co-wrote. Tom Knott and Lisa Poole are set to produce.
Set for an April 10th, 2021 debut, the anime adaptation of the
Pretty Boy Detective Club novels has revealed some new details. Aniplex USA has revealed their expected handling of the property and have released an English-subtitled trailer via YouTube that you can see below. Additionally, Funimation has picked it up for exclusive streaming in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, United Kingdom, and Ireland while AnimeLab will bring it out in Australia and New Zealand and Wakanim in France, Germany, Russia, and Scandinavia.
The series has Akiyuki Simbo as the supervising director for it and has revealed that Hiroki Yamamura is adapting the character designs with SHAFT production the animation.
