WACO, TX â The City of Waco has officially named Dr. Sheryl Victorian as the next Waco Chief of Police.
Chief Victorian begins her appointment on March 15th.
She is Wacoâs first female and first Black police chief, the City of Waco said.
Victorian served for 27 years in the Houston Police Department, rising to the rank of Assistant Chief.
âThe search for a new chief took five months and included 43 applications from candidates in 17 states,â said City Manager Bradley Ford after recommending Victorian. âSherylâs depth of hands-on management experience, her educational background and her support for innovative programs all stood out.â Ford adds, âSheryl shared our communityâs vision for a leader who embraces continuous improvement, community policing and a commitment to serving and protecting all of our ci
