UTV reveals Tracey Magee as its new political editor

UTV broadcaster Tracey Magee has been appointed the channel s political editor. The journalist, who has worked at UTV for almost 24 years, will succeed Ken Reid who leaves at the end of the month. Tracey has worked in politics in UTV since 2012, becoming Deputy Political Editor in 2016. Her time in politics has spanned nine elections, four referenda, three political agreements, the collapse and restoration of Stormont, the Brexit process from its beginning to the present day and the succession of every party leader in the executive. Tracey’s journalistic career started in the Mid Ulster Mail in 1995 as a reporter and she also spent a period at the Sunday Life. She moved to radio presenting with the former BCR, before joining UTV in 1997.

Michael T. van der Veen presented clips of Madonna and Johnny Depp to help make the case against convicting the former president, earning swift mockery on Twitter. The defense attorney presented a montage of clips showing Democratic politicians and public figures condemning Trump often using proactive language such as, “I feel like punching him.” Many of the clips focused on elected officials, such as Sen.  Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), promising voters that they would “fight” for them. Other clips showed Democrats using stronger language, such as President Joe Biden saying, “I wish we were in high school, I could take him behind the gym.”

BND Donates $1,000 to Valley City Dollars for Scholars

VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City Dollars for Scholars received a $1,000 donation from Bank of North Dakota (BND) to distribute as a scholarship. Their collaboration with the high school and local community to host College Application Month, a Financial Aid Night Presentation and Presentations to Valley City High School Seniors on the scholarship application process in 2020 allowed them to qualify for the donation. These events encouraged families to become more aware of the opportunities available in the state for planning and financing post-secondary education. North Dakota Dollars for Scholars has 64 community chapters in the state. Bank of North Dakota provides a State Director and operational support for local chapters. Since the first North Dakota chapter was established in 1962, Dollars for Scholars chapters in North Dakota have raised over $40 million and helped more than 40,000 students.
