Western Australia reveals inquiry into Crown Resorts will be Royal Commission

The government of Western Australia has revealed that it will follow the lead of Victoria by holding a Royal Commission into the suitability of Crown Resorts to continue holding a casino license for Crown Perth.
Friday’s announcement follows a recent call by the Gaming and Wagering Commission of Western Australia (GWC) for an independent inquiry to be held into Crown Resorts in the wake of the Bergin Report, which found Crown unsuitable to operate a casino in the state of NSW.
Victoria announced on 22 February that it would hold a Royal Commission into the company’s suitability to continue operating Crown Melbourne with WA now confirming it will follow suit.

James Packer s casino empire has been dealt another blow with the revelation that Crown Resorts underpaid hundreds of workers.
Crown reported itself to the Fair Work Ombudsman after stories surfaced of widespread underpayment of hospitality workers including at the casino giant s high-profile restaurants Dinner by Heston and Rockpool Bar & Grill.
But the underpayments that the Ombudsman is investigating at Crown are separate to those of its rock-star restaurants and involve workers employed directly.

Crown Casino in Melbourne has been rocked by an investigation into underpaid wages right after a Royal Commission was launched
