Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa discussed the current developments in Afghan peace process and measures taken to further enhance bilateral and defence cooperation with United Kingdom s Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS) General Sir Nicholas Patrick Carter on Monday.

EVANSTON, IL An Evanston man has updated his federal lawsuit against the city and two police officers stemming from his arrest.
Ronald Louden, 42, was shocked with a stun gun during a struggle with police during a June 2018 arrest in the 2000 block of Wesley Avenue.
According to his lawsuit, Louden was outside grilling for family and friends when he was approached by police. Police say he they were investigating a tip he was dealing drugs and had a gun.

In an amended complaint filed last week, Louden alleges the arresting officers used excessive force, falsely arrested him and conspired to violate his constitutional rights in an incident that was captured on their body-worn cameras.

Twenty years ago, documentary films were for nerds. Not cinema snobs, but even nerdier types turtleneck-wearing, herb-tea drinking, no-fun folks. The cinematic equivalent of bran, documentaries were for people who lectured about the Oxford comma, watched PBS exclusively and started every sentence with the words, “Well, actually…”

LONDON: The head of Britain’s armed forces has expressed disappointment at President Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw US troops from Afghanistan.
General Sir Nick Carter, the Chief of the Defence Staff, said it was “not a decision we hoped for” although the UK respected the view taken by the new administration. While he acknowledged the final pullout of international forces after two decades could lead to a return of the warlords to the country, he said the situation may not be “quite as bad” as some were predicting. Biden announced earlier this week that the remaining 2,500 US troops would leave by September 11 – the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the US – extending the May 1 deadline set by his predecessor, Donald Trump.
