In a forecast of the weather patterns in the country between April 6 and April 12, MET added that regions in the Northwest and the Northeast are likely to experience strong south-easterly winds.
“Rainfall is expected over most parts of the country at the beginning of the forecast period. However, rainfall amounts and coverage are likely to reduce as the forecast period progresses. A few areas in the Northwest and the Northeast are likely to experience strong south-easterly winds with speeds exceeding 25 knots (12.9m/s),” said MET in a tweet.

You will need to brace for heavy downpour in the next week, the Kenya Meteorological Department has warned.
Heavy rainfall is expected in most parts of the country in the next seven days, coupled with increased morning showers.
“However, rainfall amounts and coverage are likely to reduce as the forecast period progresses,” Met said in a statement on Monday.
Areas in the Northwest and the Northeast are likely to experience strong south-easterly winds.

The Kenya Meteorological Department has warned Nairobians of the impending heavy rains in the capital from Tuesday, March 30, to Monday, April 5.
Specifically, the meteorological department stated that more rains would be experienced on Wednesday and Thursday.
Other parts of the country expected to receive rainfall include; the Lake Victoria Basin, the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Central and South Rift Valley, the Highlands East of the Rift Valley (including Nairobi County) and the South-eastern Lowlands.

The government has announced relief measures for four hunger-stricken counties, Wajir, Turkana, Garissa and Mandera, in the North-Eastern part of Kenya.
While announcing the measures on Thursday, April 1, Government Spokesperson, Cyrus Oguna, said that the three counties were in dire need of support as the Kenya Meteorological Department had warned of low rainfalls in the areas.
Oguna said that the food sector was affected by poor short rainfalls experienced in 2020. The relief measures put in place to mitigate the disaster includes; Distribution of water and food to households in Turkana, Mandera, Garissa and Wajir. Cash transfer under the Hunger Safety Net Program which is under Phase Three.
