A brain-related visual impairment, which until recently was thought to be rare, may affect one in every 30 children according to new research investigating the prevalence of Cerebral Visual Impairment [CVI]. The University of Bristol-led findings published today [3 February] in
Developmental Medicine and Child Neurology, aim to raise awareness of CVI among parents and teachers to help them identify signs of the condition earlier.
The brain is just as important as the eyes when it comes to seeing, and many vision problems are caused by areas of the brain that are needed for sight not working properly and cannot be resolved by wearing glasses. Brain-related vision problems include difficulties with moving the eyes, seeing things in the space around (visual field) and recognising objects accurately and quickly.

St. Angela School in northeast Calgary is facing the prospect of closure, as is St. Gerard in southwest Calgary.(Google) comments
Two Calgary Catholic schools with continuously low enrolment are again being considered for closure.
St. Angela and St. Gerard schools were previously considered for closure in 2020, but that process was halted in March because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Wednesday Calgary Catholic School District (CCSD) trustees voted in favour of starting the process again because of continued low enrolment.
This year, with online learning included, St. Gerard has 83 students enrolled while St. Angela has 109.

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - The city of Columbus is pouring millions of dollars into redeveloping the south side.
A new tax allocation district (TAD) is in the works to hopefully attract new businesses and restaurants to the area.
This project is in its’ very early stages. However, you can expect some new housing to come to the south side as well as maybe an entertainment district.
