Six GR Area Teams Still Alive In High School Hoops Finals
The boys and girls high school basketball tournaments hit the Final Four stage in each of the four divisions this week, and six Grand Rapids teams are still in the hunt for a title.
Let s start with the Girls Tournament, which hits the semi-final stage today (Wednesday April 7) at both the Breslin Center in East Lansing and Van Andel Arena downtown.
In Division 1, Hudsonville will tip off at 5:30pm tonight against Midland Dow at the Breslin Center. The winner will play the winner of the other semi between Wayne Memorial and Detroit Renaissance for the championship at 12:30pm Friday, also at the Breslin Center.

Following a 13-year battle with dementia, Pinky from Pinky s Place in Grand Rapids has passed away.
Bert Anderson, better known as Pinky and owner of Pinky s Place, died. Pinky s Place posted to their Facebook account to make the announcement.
Pinky’s Place is an Antique & Artisan Market located at 4790 Alpine Ave., NW in Comstock Park, Mich. They are open daily from 10 am to 6 pm. Pinky s features over 130 local artists, crafters and vendors displaying and selling quality refurbished, recycled, vintage, shabby chic and modern furniture & home décor, handmade crafts, art of all types, antiques, boutique clothing & accessories.
