Representatives from Sandusky, Oak Harbor, Port Clinton, Fremont, Catawba Island, Huron, Marblehead (and one singer from Fort Wayne, Ind.) comprise the choir members.

Snyders honored by GOP with Joy Roth Community Service Award

The Beacon Linda Snyder accepts the inaugural Joy Roth Community Service Award that was presented to her and her late husband, Bob Snyder, by the Ottawa County Republican Committee. The late Robert “Bob” Snyder and his wife, Linda Snyder, of Catawba Island were honored as the inaugural recipients of the Joy Roth Community Service Award presented by the Ottawa County Republican Committee. Snyder had passed away in April 2021. The presentation was made recently at the Ottawa County Republican Annual Fish Fry at the Catawba Island Club. The award, a graphic picture of the late Joy Roth’s signature and a signature tote bag in Joy’s favorite yellow color, was presented by Joy Roth’s husband, Jeff Roth, to Linda Snyder.

Tell Tales 7-1-21 - The Beacon

Tell Tales 7-1-21 I think I’ve known Rob Hickman since he was a patrolman for the Port Clinton Police Department. He learned a new skill long ago as a police dog handler and trainer. He is a man I have considered a friend for quite some time. Rob made it official on Monday that he is formally retiring from the position of Chief of Police. Best of luck and safe travels to Rob and his wife, Roseann. Also, best of luck to new Port Clinton Police Chief David Scott. Speaking of law enforcement, this will be a long weekend coming up. Independence Day weekend has traditionally been the peak of the season for area visitors. Please expect the traffic to be very busy just about everywhere. Take your time wherever you go.
