For season two, streaming on Disney+ Friday, the former CLO Mini Star has been upped to a series regular playing farm boy Seb, who’s dating fellow thespian Carlos (Frankie Rodriguez). (In a life imitating art twist, Serafini and Rodriguez are now a real-life couple.)
How Serafini, 23, landed the part is a bit of theater kismet that began in Pittsburgh.
Plus, see Derek Hough step into his role as a North High rival.
We watched him become a bona fide musical theater kid, deal with family issues and finally break down the emotional distance he put between himself and those he loves. But Season 2, premiering May 14, brings another type of distance.
âRickyâs biggest fear is change,â Bassett says. âAnd Season 2 starts with a lot of change. He finds out his mom is moving. He has to also move out of his house into an apartment. The storyline of Season 2 of âHigh School Musical: The Musical: The Seriesâ picks up where Season 1 left off, with the showâs theater kids facing plenty of big changes and romantic developments. HSMTMTS stars Olivia Rodrigo and Joshua Bassett both took turns being part of their local theater productions of
Beauty and the Beast, with Rodrigo playing a clothes hanger and a sheep and Bassett playing Chip when he was 10 years old. I m excited to do
