Facebook suspends former US President Donald Trump’s accounts until 2023
Facebook has suspended Donald Trump’s account until at least January 2023, after ruling that his actions in the wake of the riot at the US Capitol constituted “a severe violation” of their rules.
The company also plans to end a controversial policy exempting politicians from some of the moderation rules on the site.

Biden suspends oil and gas leases to drill in Alaska’s Arctic refuge
President Biden has suspended oil and gas drilling leases in Alaska’s Arctic wildlife refuge, reversing a flagship Trump policy, while an environmental review is carried out.
The region is home to vast oil reserves, but also to polar bears, caribou, snowy owls and other wildlife. Democrats and environmental groups have long campaigned to protect the area and stop it being opened up for drilling. Kate Fisher reports from Washington.
Biden visits Tulsa on 100th anniversary of race massacre
100 years ago today a massacre of black residents took place on the streets of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Up to 300 people are thought to have been killed, but for many years this terrible incident was written out of the history books.
US President Joe Biden has travelled to the city today to commemorate the deadly attack perpetrated by white residents in a black neighbourhood.
