If you’ve driven through the Medical District recently, you may have noticed that UT Southwestern has expanded Clements Hospital with a new wing. It is a seamless addition to the 2014 facility, such that the zig-zagging hospital now looks like an enormous W laid on its side. Like the original to which it is attached, it is a scalpel-sharp composition of concrete and glass planes designed by the Dallas office of CallisonRTKL. The new space pushes the hospital’s bed count to 750 and increases its emergency room capacity by 50 percent.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is relaxing mask wearing standards by allowing individuals who are fully vaccinated to be outdoors in small or medium gatherings without wearing a mask. If you are vaccinated, it s safe to be outdoors without a mask, said Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky. Most of the transmission is happening indoors rather than outdoors.
Walensky did not define the numbers for a small or medium gathering, saying that, in order to do that, the CDC would also have to define the size of the space and ventilation.

Nonbank mortgage lender and servicer Ocwen Financial Corp. continues to pursue a strategy of building its loan servicing portfolio by growing the loan origination business of its subsidiary, PHH Mortgage.
Ocwen last week announced that it’s acquired the correspondent lending business of Texas Capital Bank, a move that’s expected to roughly double PHH Mortgage’s correspondent lending business.
The deal with Texas Capital Bank comes on the heels of a $498 million debt restructuring, and PHH Mortage’s recruitment of a new head of correspondent lending, Andy Peach, from rival Mr. Cooper.
Ocwen CEO Glen Messina said in a statement that the moves “are major steps toward achieving our goal of adding at least $100 billion in new servicing in 2021.”
