Tom Barrack is the most recent member of Trumpâs 2016 presidential campaign team to have been indicted for, essentially, being willing to sell out the interests of his country in exchange for payments from a foreign nation (in this case, the United Arab Emirates). He is free on $250 million bail. That makes nine campaign muck-a-mucks whoâve been indicted. (The total doesnât include Michael Cohen and Allen Weisselberg, whose transgressions occurred while on the payroll of Trumpâs company, rather than his campaign.)
Raising wages seems to have helped McDonald’s attract workers, along with unemployment benefits ending.
“We’re getting close to full staffing levels,” CEO Chris Kempczinski said, per Restaurant Business.
Anecdotally, raising wages seems to be a powerful motivator for luring workers back.
Remarks from a McDonald’s earning calls shows one strategy that may have helped the fast-food giant hire workers amidst the US labor shortage: Paying more.
In a Wednesday earnings call, CEO Chris Kempczinski linked the chain’s announcement of a wage hike to more ease in filling positions. McDonald’s was one of a myriad of chains struggling to hire workers in April, with one location paying prospective workers $US50 ($AU68) to simply show up for an interview.

Fintan McCarthy and Paul O’Donovan ended Ireland’s Olympic gold drought after a thrilling lightweight double sculls victory.
The Cork pair won the men’s final to earn the country’s first gold medal since Kate Taylor’s boxing victory in 2012.
They also became the first male Irish gold medallists since boxer Michael Carruth in 1992, after beating Germany by just 0.86 seconds at the Sea Forest Waterway on Thursday.
