Pepe Le Pew was revealed to have been removed from the final cut of Space Jam 2, with a scene on kissing without consent. Although the news comes after a viral New York Times article on the character’s encouragement of “rape culture”, it’s believed to be unrelated.
The New York Times article did however garner attention on social media, with those in agreeance and those who don’t. Pepe Le Pew wasn’t the only Looney Tunes character to be drawn attention to either, Speedy Gonzales was also criticised, leading to a social media reaction.
