It was like walking into a war zone. Raised voices, tears and slammed doors. After 10 years of considering ourselves the A-team of parenting, I felt like I was living on a battleground as my husband David and eldest daughter Rachel began fighting constantly.
It came as a surprise – I’d never worried about how David and I would cope when the teenage years hit. When Rachel was born, we’d found our parenting groove fairly easily. I paused my career to be the stay-at-home parent while David continued his in hospitality, and we each respected what the other contributed to the family.
