The Turners Falls and Frontier softball teams have had plenty of time to stew over their championship game losses two years ago.
The Thunder blitzed through the Western Mass. Div. 3 tournament, crushed Hopedale in the state semis but fell to Austin Prep in the championship game. The seventh-seeded Redhawks made a run of their own in the Western Mass Div. 2 tourney, reaching the championship game before losing to Hampshire at UMass.

The 2021 winter season has come to the close in the blink of an eye, and with the dust starting to settle, let’s take a quick look back on how this season, one like no other, played out.
With no postseason tournaments, there was no definitive champion, though Friday’s matchup between Pioneer and Mahar was a battle for the top boys record in the Franklin County League.
