They are referred to as The Supreme Court of Facebook. But the Facebook Oversight Board, a supposed global independent panel of 20 people featuring academic, political and civic leaders, doesn t appear to be looking for likes.
On Wednesday, the board upheld former President Donald Trump s ban from the social network but added that Facebook must review its decision to permanently ban him.

San Francisco, May 5 (EFE).- Facebook’s suspension of Donald Trump’s accounts was deemed to be justified by the social media giant’s international Oversight Board, but that body on Wednesday gave the company six months to specify precisely how long the ban on the ex-president of the United States will last.
Trump’s accounts on Facebook and Instagram (one of the company’s subsidiaries) have been suspended since the Jan. 6 storming of the US Capitol building by a large group of the then-president’s supporters, many of whom had gone to Washington DC to attend his “Stop the Steal” rally.

Facebook s Oversight Board is planning to announce whether or not former President Donald Trump will be able to return to the social media platform on Wednesday.
Trump was indefinitely locked out of his Facebook account after he was accused of using his social media platforms to incite a mob of his supporters to storm the U.S. Capitol in a deadly riot on January 6.
The following day, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerbergwrote in a post that the risk of continuing to allow Trump to use Facebook and Instagram during the presidential transition period was simply too great.
