The BJP Thrissur district president has lodged a complaint with the police against the actor from Lakshadweep, Aisha Sultana, alleging the actor had made a seditious remark during a TV channel discussion. In his complaint, K.K. Aneesh Kumar alleged that during a TV channel discussion on June 7, the actor had said that the Centre used a bio-weapon in Lakshadweep.
“At a time while the country is fighting against COVID pandemic, the actor and other terrorist forces are trying to destabilise the democratic government by creating a communal divide and spreading false news. Her remarks are punishable under the Indian Penal Code, Epidemic Diseases Act and Disaster Management Act,” he said in the complaint.

‘Accused summoned to party office, questioned by leaders’
Two accused in the Kodakara black money robbery case were summoned to the BJP office by the party leaders, according to the police sources.
It is suspected that the BJP leaders got indications about the robbers even before the police got any clue about them.
Renjith and Deepak, two of the accused in the case, allegedly told the police that they were questioned by the BJP leaders in the party office.

LDF nominees refuse to come to power with UDF support
The power crisis in the Avinissery grama panchayat continues as the Left Democratic Front (LDF) has decided not to assume power in the local body with the support of the United Democratic Front (UDF).
LDF candidates won to the post of president and vice-president in the elections held on Wednesday with the UDF members voting in their favour. LDF’s A.R. Raju was elected president and Indira Jayakumar vice president.
In the 14-member panchayat, the National Democratic Alliance has six seats, LDF five and the UDF three seats.
