MONTCLAIR, NJ A Montclair nonprofit is going medieval on the local music scene – literally.
Since forming in 2010, the members of Montclair Early Music (MEM) have been united in their quest to inspire their community with tunes popularized before 1750, largely from the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque periods.
The group gives its members a chance to jam together on songs that raised the roof centuries ago. Their instruments of choice are likewise anachronistic: sackbuts, crumhorns, lutes, harps, and of course, the ubiquitous recorder.

METUCHEN – The Metuchen Arts Council is joining with the Metuchen Human Relations Commission to schedule virtual Community Conversations around the issues highlighted in 2021 Windows of Understanding Public Art Project.
The second in the series of virtual Community Conversations will take place at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 24 on the topics of Public Health and Trauma & Recovery.

The Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers announced a schedule for virtual programs for the new year while the museum building remains closed to the public and in-person events are suspended until further notice.
The free film series The History of Russian Design continues on Thursdays throughout January.
