St Kilda season review: Anything but saintly

Welcome to Part 9 of my season review series, today focused on St Kilda. In the words of Brain Taylor, boy oh boy, wowee, they had a positively atrocious season. The Saints were tipped to potentially storm the top four, yet they largely failed to fire a shot, dropping games to inferior opposition in poor […]

One positive and one negative from your club's Round 17 performance

One positive and one negative from your club s Round 17 performance By It was a big round of footy and there were important storylines across the weekend. We have selected one positive and one negative from the Round 17 performance of each of the 18 clubs. See our thoughts below: Positive: Schoenberg shows up There weren’t many Adelaide players who could hold their head high after the lacklustre 63-point loss to Essendon. One Crow who did his bit was youngster Harry Schoenberg. In just his 23rd game, the 20-year-old was one of only a few who led the way with 20 disposals and a team-high seven tackles, four clearances and one of his side’s two goals.

Club great slams "rabble" Collingwood as St Kilda escapes with finals hopes intact

Club great slams rabble Collingwood as St Kilda escapes with finals hopes intact By 2021-07-04T18:05+10:00 St Kilda may have just kept their finals hopes alive with a nine-point win over Collingwood at the MCG on Sunday. The Saints led from start to finish to run away victors, but it wasn’t without a scare as a late Magpie surge reduced the margin from 49 points to just eight points in the dying minutes. While they sit in 11th spot, Brett Ratten’s side is now just two points outside of the eight, quite a remarkable feat considering where their season looked headed at the midway point of the campaign.
