When Tricia Stevenson s five-year-old daughter, Scarlett, asked her mom if she could run a lemonade stand, she thought about doing it at the bottom of their driveway. Then a friend told Stevenson about Alex s Lemonade Stand, a charity organization that raises money for children with cancer.
Alex s Lemonade Stand was started by Alexandra Alex Scott, a four-year-old who had been diagnosed with cancer just before her first birthday. She told her parents she wanted to sell lemonade to raise money that she would give to doctors, to help them find a cure for cancer.
