Legends Ink Two Former Kentucky Wildcats to Pitching Staff

Tim Peterson returns to Lexington after eight seasons in the New York Mets organization. He made his MLB debut with the Mets on May 30 th, 2018. After boasting a 2.45 ERA for the University of Kentucky, Peterson was drafted in the 20 th round of the 2012 MLB Draft by the Mets and went on to pitch in 28 games for the Mets during the 2018 and 2019 seasons. Peterson spent the 2019 season splitting time between the major league club in Queens and the Triple-A Syracuse Mets. Prior to making his Major League debut in 2018, Tim pitched in the prestigious Arizona Fall League impressing scouts and fans with a 0.87 ERA. During his eight professional seasons, Tim excelled with a 19-14 record and a 3.20 ERA. He tossed 357 innings striking out 414 batters while only walking 91.

St. John Ambulance, Health Canada offering more Naloxone training

The new programs are aimed at providing more people with Naloxone kits, increasing the survival rate of someone overdosing. Spokesperson Kevin McGowan said these programs are desperately needed right now. “Obviously, the crisis has been coming in waves, and just increasing and get worse and worse over the last five or ten years,” said McGowan. “This is an absolute critical time for us to have a project like this, and help Canada recognize that, and ask St. John Ambulance to attack pretty quickly.”

Partnership Aims to Ramp Up Opioid Overdose Training and Distribute Naloxone Kits

Ferguson Mar 31, 2021 11:40 AM St. John Ambulance has, it says, at the request of Health Canada, partnered with the Canadian Red Cross and the ACT Foundation in a three year initiative to combat the opioid poisoning crisis. Kevin McGowan with St. John Ambulance says since January they have provided 78 courses to homeless shelters and other support organizations across Canada teaching over 750 people and they’ve distributed 2060 nasal Naloxone kits. Of those, in Saskatchewan, they’ve trained 112 people at various shelters and related organizations and distributed about 400 Naloxone kits across the province with about a third going to the Saskatoon area.

Winter Storm Set to Exit Southland; Warmer Weather Ahead

By City News Service Mar 12, 2021 LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The tail end of a winter storm moved across the Southland today, with forecasters calling for a chance of showers through this afternoon followed by dry weather tonight. The National Weather Service said the dry weather is expected to continue through the weekend, with another chance of rain for northern sections of the Southland on Sunday night into Monday. Dry conditions are then expected Tuesday through Thursday. However, a flash flood watch remained in effect through 4 a.m. Friday for the Santa Ana Mountains and Foothills, Orange County inland areas and the Silverado and Bond burn scars in Orange County.
