WILMINGTON, Ohio â A man who Clinton County Sheriff s deputies said was involved over the weekend in the shooting of an Ohio Department of Natural Resources officer is now facing a felony assault charge.
Clinton County Sheriff s Chief Deputy Brian Prickett said Wednesday Liming subsequently faced a felony assault charge in relation to the shooting.
Behr, a 25-year-veteran of the ODNR, suffered serious injuries but officials said Sunday they did not appear to be life-threatening. No update on Behr s condition was immediately available Wednesday morning.
Dec 23, 2020 State agents who enforce hunting laws often have to confront suspects who are carrying guns. Very seldom does that result in violence. It did Sunday in Clinton County, Ohio, as state Department of Natural Resources officers were investigating a deer poaching complaint. One of the officers, Kevin Behr, was shot. He was taken to a hospital but, fortunately, not with life-threatening injuries. Three suspects were arrested. It appears one of them fired the shot that hit Behr. Assuming charges against the three are accurate, they should be punished as severely as the law permits. Shooting a DNR officer or any other law enforcement agent ought to bring the full wrath of the law down on the offender.
