She ll be attending Gallaudet University, but not until fall 2022. She is deaf, so having to wear masks is an extreme barrier for communication. Angeliki Vassilatos knew she wanted to go to a college with a program for people who are deaf or a significant population of deaf students. Deaf since age 9, the senior at Whitney Young Magnet High School spent her academic years learning alongside hearing peers.

Four finalists have been named for the position of vice provost for enrollment management ( VPEM) at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. The four finalists are scheduled for virtual visits over a two-day period. The visits include: department discussions; meetings with senior administrators, faculty, staff, students, and internal and external constituents; and a public presentation. The decision to meet with the finalists virtually was made to protect the health and welfare of the UH community, community members and the general public. The candidates will be participating from their home institutions with each session hosted by UH Mānoa. Campus and community members, as well as the general public, are encouraged to attend the public presentations.
