Rosenberg published his first novel, “Gideon” a murder mystery set in his hometown of San Francisco. Originally, Rosenberg had drafted “Gideon” as a pilot for a one-hour dramatic TV series but found that a 60-page script didn’t do his story or characters justice. The novel format also gave way for him to explore the themes and emotional impact on a much more complex level.
