Work on Adrian food truck ordinance continues

The Daily Telegram ADRIAN Officials are moving forward with establishing permits, fees and locations for food trucks to operate in the city of Adrian. At its meeting Monday, the Adrian City Commission had the first reading of an ordinance that would let the commission determine where in the city food trucks could operate as well as establish a fee schedule for permits for those trucks. A special meeting for the ordinance s second reading and possible adoption was set for June 1. The commission s next regular meeting is not until June 7, and commissioners wanted an earlier meeting after expressing concern that the process for establishing the criteria for allowing food trucks on private property could stretch into the summer.

Adrian City Attorney Tamaris Henagan resigns, cites ethical concerns

The Daily Telegram ADRIAN Citing “ethical concerns,” Adrian City Attorney Tamaris Henagan submitted her resignation Monday following her annual review by the city commission.  The commission has scheduled a special meeting for 7 p.m. Thursday, May 20, to formally accept Henagan’s resignation and appoint the law firm of Garan Lucow Miller of Ann Arbor as the interim city attorney.  Henagan told the commission she was going to resign regardless of the outcome of the evaluation, and cited Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct from the Michigan Supreme Court in the resignation letter she read to the commission.  “Unfortunately, due to ethical concerns that have been raised, I do not believe I will be able to continue forward as the attorney for the city of Adrian,” Henagan read from her letter. “I’ve notified the city administrator and the commission of those concerns to no avail. As such, I’m under a legal obligation to place these concerns in writing
