Two more cities in the western United States are eligible for Knock’s Home Swap, according to a press release from the tech-enabled specialty mortgage company.
In Tuscon, Arizona, and Colorado Springs, Colorado, homeowners are now able to work with Knock-certified agents to “buy before they sell,” leveraging the company’s unique lending model.
Sellers who lack the cash to compete in today’s tight seller’s market and would otherwise have to make an offer contingent on the sale of their current home can be pre-approved for a Knock loan and, thus, be better prepared to enter the market for their next home.
The coronavirus pandemic is blowing up the Winona home-buying market in a good way.
In 2020, homebuyers in Winona County set a new record when they purchased a total of 717 homes, according to data from the county recorder’s office. Another record: 28 went for more than $400,000. Of those 28, six of them were sold in the last month, thus breaking yet another record.
“The total number of sales would be even higher if more homes were available for sale,” county recorder Bob Bambenek said in a report to the County Board on Tuesday.
The pandemic, having compelled people to stay inside their homes, is also compelling them to think more about their home and their dreams for it. On Jan. 4, only 341 single family detached homes in all price categories were for sale in El Paso County. Also listed that day were eight patio homes, 34 townhomes and 16 condos.

In a county with a population currently estimated by the U.S. Census Bureau at more than 720,000, those figures reveal that homes are getting snapped up.
Another way to look at the local home market is months-supply data â the number of months it would take for current inventory on the market to sell, given the current pace.

As we prepare to bid 2020 goodbye and good riddance, there are a few areas to celebrate. One of them has been the remarkable resiliency of the housing market. Stalled for a few weeks when COVID-19 first hit last spring, sales roared back.
“The real driver was interest rates,” said John T. Wanninger of Lakes Sotheby’s International Realty. Low interest, coupled with families trying to work, play and study in the same place has encouraged buyers to buy big homes and add amenities.
