As reported by PEP.ph, the pageant organization on Wednesday shared on its Instagram stories that the Miss Eco International first runner-up had tested negative, adding that she would be staying in Egypt due the lockdown in the Philippines. It also shared a photo of Kelley’s RT-PCR test, which showed a “negative” result. Kelley represented the Philippines at the Miss Eco International beauty pageant, which was held in Egypt on April 5 (Philippine time). During the course of the pageant, rumors reportedly circulated that some Miss Eco International candidates had contracted the disease.

The organization released a statement amid rumors that some candidates tested positive for COVID-19. The AVL Group of Companies is coordinating closely with the Miss Eco International organization in ensuring the health and safety of all the candidates in its recently concluded pageant, national director Arnold Vegafria was quoted as saying. Our official candidate, Ms. Kelley Day, remains our topmost priority, and we remain optimistic as we await the results of the organizers routinary medical testing procedures, he added.
