WRTA Administrator Dennis J Lipka Worcester Regional Transit Authority

Worcester Regional Transit Authority Administrator Dennis J. Lipka will be staying on for another year, as advisory board members voted unanimously to extend his contract until June 30, 2022. The personnel committee evaluated Lipka in seven categories: relations with the advisory board; leadership and policy execution; communication; intergovernmental relations; management and administration; financial management; and personal characteristics. Out of a possible score of 1680, Lipka received 1,481.5 points, with the highest marks in personal characteristics and financial management, according to an evaluation scoresheet summarizing the results. Advisory Board and Personnel Board member Doug Belanger said the evaluators were “unanimously complimentary,” of Lipka, and praised his ability to balance “rider needs and safety” during the pandemic.
