The Blood Sisters, Eileen de Jager and Roelien Schutte, are the owners of a company called Crime Scene Cleanup and for 15 years, their business has scrubbed away blood, sweat, and so much more.
They have had to clean up major, high-profile homicide cases, hoarders homes, and everything in between.
But buying into this business and becoming a franchisee isn t just for anyone.
You ll need an iron stomach as some scenes can be extremely traumatising.
Keri Miller had the opportunity to sit down and discuss this unconventional career path with the head of Crime Scene Cleanup KZN, Yvette Knoetze.

That s perfectly fine, as long as they do not flock to a major sporting event bringing the game to a sudden halt.
Unfortunately, one group of seagulls couldn t care less about the Phillip Island Trophy Women s Tennis match that was busy taking place in Melbourne, Australia.
As nighttime fell, the birds were swooping down during the second and third set.
It turns out they weren t trying to join the game but instead were trying to rummage through the garbage for food.
They were brave enough to do this because of the lack of crowds in the arena due to the COVID-19 lockdown.

Certain competitions have until very recently, maybe even a few decades ago, still excluded black women.
The history of these competitions, without even having to look at it under a microscope, has been problematic, to say the least.
Women are now saying enough is enough!
Cultural ambassador Kwena Baloyi and Bonolo Modise are starting a movement and have called upon the women of SA to join them.

No matter how much we want to deny it, money does make the world go round and, unfortunately, we just can t escape inflation!

It was on the 14th of February 1961 when the official currency of South Africa was introduced.
After SA gained its independence and became a republic, as Queen Elizabeth ceased to be the head of state, the British-styled currency (pounds, pence, etc.) left along with her.
The old currency was replaced with the new and the original exchange rate stood at two rand for every one pound.
